Organic Matcha

Organic Is Just the Beginning.

Organic certification tells us that no pesticides or chemical fertilizers were used.

But it does not tell us whether heavy metals are present in the leaves.

HEAVY METALS HAVE BEEN DETECTED IN ORGANIC MATCHA.

Independent, third-party laboratory testing coordinated by Lead Safe Mama detected lead, cadmium, arsenic, and/or mercury in several organic matcha products tested.

PHENIMAX was not included in this testing. But the findings make one thing clear:

Don’t stop at “organic.” Check whether the finished matcha itself has been tested.

Results apply only to the specific products and samples tested.

Tea plant absorbing minerals from the soil

HOW CAN HEAVY METALS REACH TEA LEAVES?

If heavy metals are present in the soil or water, traces may be absorbed by the tea plant.

Air, rain, and runoff can also carry substances from nearby roads, residential areas, and industrial activity into a tea field.

If heavy metals are present in the soil or water, traces may be absorbed as well.

Air, rain, and runoff can also carry substances from nearby roads, residential areas, and industrial activity into a tea field.

THAT IS WHY “ORGANIC” ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR PHENIMAX.

We select tea fields deep in remote mountain regions, far from dense human activity and surrounding environmental influences.

We regularly inspect the soil—its aroma, texture, moisture, and condition—with our own eyes and hands.

But we do not stop at the tea field.

PHENIMAX regularly tests finished tea products for heavy metals. Tea from every PHENIMAX farm is covered by our testing program, and the results are made available to you.

Sometimes, we even taste a tiny amount ourselves.

And we do not stop at the soil.

We test the tea leaves themselves for heavy metals and make the results available.

There is one question behind everything we do:

Would you put the soil from your tea field in your mouth?

We do.

Why do we go this far?

Because matcha is consumed directly as a powder rather than steeped and discarded, testing the finished product matters.

For us, organic certification is not the finish line.

It is where responsibility begins.

Only the tea we would wholeheartedly choose for ourselves is ever offered to you.

Two Distinct Worlds of Japanese Tea

The Pinnacle of Tradition. Innovation for Health.

Exceptional Japanese Tea Rarely Experienced Even in Japan

PHENIMAX is for those seeking Japanese tea of a caliber that even most people in Japan rarely have the opportunity to experience.

We present exceptional matcha, sencha, gyokuro, and hand-rolled teas crafted by some of Japan’s most distinguished tea masters—including a master whose tea received the Grand Gold Prize at the World Green Tea Contest, and a master who crafted tea served to His Majesty the Emperor of Japan.

Innovative Matcha Created for Health

UNICROSS introduces an innovative world of matcha for those who make matcha part of their healthy lifestyle as a superfood.

Wholefood Matcha is a new concept that grinds the entire tea leaf—including the stems and veins—into one whole powder.

You want caffeine. But you also want the relaxing compounds L-theanine and GABA. That idea led to the world’s first Organic Wholefood GABA Matcha.

Developed through collaborative research between Japan’s leading tea masters and a Japanese university.
